Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all and your families!  This card was created for the Belli Challenge and the theme is Christmas.  I love Christmas and the BEST time is when I spend it with my sister.

To create this card I stamped "Snowfall Background" by JustRite® Papercraft onto dark purple with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.  My sentiment and image is from "Sparky the Snowman" (retired).  I colored the snowman with Copic markers.  The frame was created using "Opulent Ovals" by Spellbinders® PaperArts.  My finishing touch is a white button snowflake and light purple pearls.

Belli Challenge #184 - Candy

The theme for the Belli Challenge is Candy.  I just got back from my sister's Darsie house in NY.  The temperature there was from 55 to 30 degrees.  I come back to Minnesota and the temperature is from -0 to a warm 16 today!  So this much of hot cocoa will be the best thing ever today to warm me up!

To create this fun gift, purchase a clear mug and add hot cocoa to the bottom of a clear bad.  Insert into mug and next add miniature chocolate chips and crushed peppermint candy canes.  Tie with a red satin ribbon and bow.  The sentiment is a retired JustRite® Papercraft "Something Sweet Set".  The frame was created using JustRite® Papercraft "Nested Madellion Labels".

CAS Christmas Cards with Stamp Simply

I'm so excited to be Guest Designing for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. I've loved the vast selection of ribbons, stamps and paper pads for a long time, and drool each time Sharon adds new products! The ribbons are luxurious, and are so affordable.

Today, I've created three Clean and Simple cards using the new Anna Griffin Emerald Forest paper pad with matching sentiment/floral stickers. I can tell you that doing CAS cards is quite outside my box, but I'm liking them!

This card uses Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Dainty Dots - Side B with Anna Griffin Sentiment Stickers and a tiny Gold Metallic String bow for accent.

My last card worked up in less than five minutes with simple rectangle pieces and an Anna Griffin Christmas Tree sticker topped with a gold star.

Belli Challenge #183 - Thank You

The theme for the next two weeks over at the Belli Challenge - Thank You.  I would love to thank my greatest friend.  This person is so special to me, has been through a lot with me and visa versa!  The love and friendship is unbelievable.  Not a day goes by that I don't think of this person.  So courageous, honorable, sarcastic, funny, considerate and the BEST friend I have.  Of course, she is gonna say gross when she reads this post, but I am MOST thankful for my sister/friend Darsie Bruno!!

I created the roses with Rose Creations and the swirls were made with Floral Flourishes, both by Spellbinders® PaperArts.  The beautiful sentiment is Mix & Match Sentiments by JustRite® Papercrafts. The designer papers are from Gathering by Authentique.  My border edge is MS Doily punch.  The finishing touches are two pearls in the center of the roses.

Sisters

I created this card with my sister Darsie in mind!  She is the most talented artist in this papercrafting world that I am proud to know!  She inspires me to try new things and go out of my box, which is hard for me. Here is to the greatest sister I am lucky to have.

So I created the flowers using the holly leaves from Holly Motifs (retired) by Spellbinders.  I cut out the leaves multiple times and colored the back of the card stock to get the blended look.  I glued the pieces together to create a rose flower.  Then I cut out more leaves on green card stock for the leaves under the flower.  The frame around the sentiment is Standard Circles and Scalloped Circles by Spellbinders® PaperArts.  The sentiment is from Mix & Match Sentiments by JustRite® Papercrafts.  The doily edge was created using MS punch.  The designer papers are True Love by Basic Grey.

JustRite Papercraft Friday Challenge - WOW - White On White

This turned out to be so elegant and festive for the upcoming Holidays.  Over at the JustRite® Papercraft Friday Challenge, the theme is WOW - White On White.  This is hard for me, but I gave it a shot and I love it!

The background frame was created using the largest Majestic Labels Twenty-Five and was glued to white glitter paper.  Next I embossed the center cut out with the next die.  On white glitter paper I cut and embossed with the third and fourth Majestic Labels Twenty-Five and the oval was made with Radiant Rectangle, both by Spellbinders® PaperArts.  I cut and embossed with white embossing powder the poinsettia from "Festive Poinsettia", the sentiment is also from the same clear stamp set by JustRite® Papercraft.  The white pearls were added to the oval and the center of the poinsettia.  Next, add tulle and wedding sprigs and this project is complete.

Ornate Box

I just love creating boxes!  It is so fun to get out all of your Spellbinder® Paper Arts dies and put something very pretty together.  No reason for making this, just wanted to try something different than a card.

Here are the instructions:

1.      To create the box, cut/emboss the large Romantic Rectangles out of white card stock for the bottom.
2.      For box sides, cut white card stock 2 ¾ x 8 ½ inches. On the strip, score a line at 5 ¼ inches. Make two of these strips.
3.      To create the box top and flap, cut white card stock 6 ½ x 8 ½ inches and fold to 4 ¼ x 6 ½ inches.  Place folded edge inside the cut line of the large Romantic Rectangle die template, then cut/emboss.
4.      Measure and draw lines to create a 3 x 5 inch rectangle on the bottom of the doubled RomanticRectangle panel. Cut rectangle out and this forms your box flap.
5.      Run a bead of adhesive along the sides of the two strips to form your wall sides.  Run a bead of adhesive along the bottom of the wall sides and adhere to the bottom of the Romantic Rectangle panel.  Add a bead of adhesive to the top of the wall sides and adhere the Romantic Rectangle with the cut out rectangle on top.
6.      For the top of box, cut 5 ¼ x 3 ½ inches of white glitter paper, and adhere to top of Romantic Rectangle.
7.      Starting with the largest Decorative Label Twenty-Eight die, cut/emboss with white card stock.  Cut/emboss next smallest die with white glitter paper.  Continue in this manner until all dies from the set has been used.  Add foam dots to the back of each die cut.  Layer dies largest to smallest to box top.
8.      Cut/emboss fifteen Ironworks Motif from white glitter paper, and adhere one to center of box top.
9.      Cut off top and bottoms of the remaining Ironworks Motifs and put aside.
10.  For the sides, cut eight Ironwork Motifs centers in half length wise. Add adhesive to the back of these pieces with the Xyron Create-a-Sticker. Add these to the top and bottom of the wall sides.
11.  Wrap pink silk ribbon around the box and add uncut Ironwork Motifs centers to hold down ribbon. Use remaining cut centers and add to corner edges.  Tuck swirls under ribbon edge.
12.  Adhere cut end pieces from Ironwork Motifs that you set aside to the top of the box at the corners.
13.  Add pink pearls to decorate the box.
14.  Add Jolee’s dimensional sticker to center of Ironwork Motif on top of box.  Add a pink pearl to center of sticker.

Belli Challenge #182 - Harvest

Pumpkins are such a decorative vegetable.  They can be used  for Halloween or for Harvest/Thanksgiving.  I love all the orange, red and golden yellows this time of year.  On the Belli Challenge our theme for the next two weeks is Harvest.

My image is from The Pumpkin Patch Matstack.  The sentiment is "Antique Autumn Tags One" and the frame was created using "Antique Tags One" dies by JustRite® Papercraft.  I used Standard Circles and Classic Rectangle by Spellbinders® PaperArts.  My designer paper is from Hobby Lobby.  The  finishing touches are tan/white baker's twine in a double bow and a cut out of a gold leaf.

Frosted Snowflake Vase

Here is a fun creation using Create-a-Flake Three and Snowflake Pendant (both retired) by Spellbinders® PaperArts. The sentiment is Large Fancy Holiday Sentiments and Vintage Labels & Banner by JustRite® Papercrafts.  I look forward to snow this year and lots of it, since I live in Minnesota!

The instructions are below:

1.      Thoroughly wash and dry glass vase and set aside.
2.      Using Create-a-Flake Three and Snowflake Pendant die templates, cut assorted snowflakes from self adhesive vinyl.  Peel off protective backing from snowflakes and arrange on vase.  With the back of a spoon, rub vinyl snowflakes on vase until all air bubbles are removed.  This is an important step to keep the etching cream from seeping underneath the vinyl stencils.
3.      Generously apply the etching cream onto the vase with a foam brush.  Don’t be afraid to use plenty of cream, as you will be putting the excess back in the jar.  Wait 15 minutes for the glass to etch.
4.      Use a foam brush to remove excess cream and put back into jar, being careful not to disturb the stencils.  Once the excess cream is removed, put vase into bucket of water and remove the cream from the vase with a sponge.  The stencils may come off during this process but it is ok.
5.      Make sure all vinyl has been removed and rinse vase in sink with fresh water then dry with a towel.  The etching will appear once your vase is dry.
6.      Cut/emboss the large snowflake from Create-a-Flake Three with white glitter paper.  Add white pearl to center of snowflake.
7.      Stamp sentiment from Large Fancy Holiday Sentiment set with black ink onto white card stock.  Center Vintage Label & Banner Dies over sentiment and cut/emboss.  With sentiment still in die template add light blue ink.  Curl the sentiment with a pencil.

8.      Tie a bow around the top edge of vase with a light blue ribbon.  Tie snowflake and sentiment to silk ribbon bow with white floss.

Come back tomorrow and see my final creation,  I really had fun creating these projects!

The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge

It is with such sadness to announce this will be the last sketch for The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge is closing their challenge.  The mother company Sweet & Sassy is growing so big that this choice was made.  I have used their sketches ever since I started creating cards.  I just love them and will miss them terribly.  I wish Sweet & Sassy the BEST of luck in their new endeavors!

This was a difficult sketch for me, I am the type of person to not go outside of my box and tearing paper is normally NOT something I will do.  With this adorable snowman image I found on the internet, it was appropriate to tear and it turned out awesome!

The sentiment is "Large Fancy Holiday" by JustRite® Papercraft.  My designer paper is from Hobby Lobby and my finishing touches are four cream pearls.

The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge

I am so excited!  Today on The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge, I learned how to make my roses look more real.  With a little bit of rolling and squishing you can make the Rose Creations by Spellbinders® PaperArts, really look amazing!

My designer papers are Wedding by Making Memories.  I used several different papers to create the roses by cutting out several of each sizes of the Rose Creations.  Roll the edges of the larger rose pieces to create the outside petals.  Squish some of the smaller rose pieces to create the inside petals. Glue together to create your gorgeous roses!  Next, sponge the roses and the leaves created with Foliage with grey ink.  Stamp a sentiment from Wedding Nested Sentiments (retired) by JustRite® Papercraft onto Labels Sixteen.  Add a double bow created with seam binding by The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Belli Challenge #180 - Leaves

Fall is the time for beautifully colored leaves to make our world prettier.  For the Belli Challenge our theme is Leaves.  I approached this challenge differently, by using leaves with a gorgeous rose I am learning how to create to look like a real rose.

The first layer is the "Fleur de Lis" Square" and the second and third layers are "Marvelous Squares".  The designer papers are The French Country Stack by Die Cut With A View.  I stamped my sentiment from "Large Fancy Sentiment" by JustRite® Papercraft onto a "Classic Square" and turned  it to be a diamond.  Then sponge the sentiment with pink and peach ink.   The rose was created with "Spiral Blossom One" and I sponged the edges with pink ink.   The leaves were created with "Foliage" and then sponged the edges too.  All the above dies are all by Spellbinders® PaperArts.  My finishing touches are three white pearls and a silk ribbon bow from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge

How can a nasty little bug become the prettiest butterfly?  My kids would collect and feed the caterpillar until they spun their cocoons and turned into one.  It was a lot of fun and interesting to see nature at it's best!  So I decided to get my last little bit of summer in on my creation for The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge.

The sentiment is "Every Day Miracles" and the butterfly is "Blue Morpho Butterfly" by Sweet N Sassy.  The frames around the sentiment is "Classic Circles" and "Lacey Circles" by Spellbinders® PaperArts.  The designer papers are from "Moments" by My Mind's Eye.  The butterfly was colored with Copic markers. The border edge was created using MS Doily punch.
